The throat is one of our most vulnerable organs to cold and contamination as it is the gateway into the body. Air, food and liquids pass through it, and so it is permanently in contact with infectious agents. Therefore, it is important to take special care of it. The symptoms of throat irritation can range from feeling discomfort when swallowing food or just saliva, to losing the voice or being hoarse and having a dry cough.
That’s why it is essential to take care and wrap up well against the cold, and to be aware of sharp changes in temperature and, of course, not to smoke and to avoid places full of smoke.
Throat irritation occurs when the throat or its surrounding tissues become inflamed.
